Using car audio in the home?

you can do it, ive tried it, but just not for an extended period of time. I had an extra car battery, amp, charger, and 10" sub lying around in my garage.

Wire up the amp to the battery, and and the amp to the sub. for RCA's i just ran a set from my surrond sound in my room. i only kept it running for a bout a day though. Never gave it a good shakedown.

Cheap plate amp would be a better bet probably. Only problem is JL's great way of making the ohm load different from everybody elses. Either way, a nice plate amp should cost about $125-$200 and give you enough power for tight, college living.
