Using CA accelerator???

How do i use this? I have the IC-2000 CA glue and Insta-set accelerator from BSI. Do i put the glue down then the cone then spray the accelerator or glue accelerator then cone down? Please help!! I'm about to break my recone cherry!!

hehe, glue down, then push down the cone and the spider. to get it to hold temporarily lightly mist the accelerator over it, dont use too much because it will become brittle and turn white

i belive thats how you do it. just make sure the cone is close and ready to set down.

Is the accelerator really needed or does it just speed up the process?

And when you say brittle are you saying the glue becomes brittle or everything that the accelerator touches like the cone and spiders would become brittle if i got too much on them?

I was working on a recone for a Sony Xplode... we just had it duct taped to the LOUD part of the sub.

i spray it on top of the spider/surround, right at the joint. That way it will hold it temporarily while the rest cures. I really dont like using it on the entire joint....

I dont use that much accelerator at all.. I just use it to help hold downt he surround if it dosent just stick using the glue... I spray a light mist over everything I glued when everything is good to go... I also let it sit for 24 hours since I dont use much accelerator..... The accelerator is good if you are in a Comp and u need to recone a blown sub fast to make it to the next round or run

I'll probably do what Korn said and not use much accelerator. We'll see how it goes. Hope for the best everyone!
