using 12 gauge for wiring subs

I wouldn't say perfect because big power subs require bigger speaker wire.. So can't say perfect without knowing what subs and how much power.. But for average subs 12ga is fine..

when you say 12 gauge power wire you aren't talking about the style that you would use to wire a house or anything like that are you? you want something more flexible and with a higher strand count than that.
