Used sonance or new 187?

Around christmas time my old beat up RD sonance was at the pawn shop and the guy couldn't sell it so its probably still sitting there. He wants 100 for it. Taxes should be here within the next 2 weeks. Should i go pick up my old sonance which is mechanically sound and in 3.5 cubes @ 30hz. Or buy a new 187 and build a box for it which will cost around 200? Which is a better sub? My sonance was pretty nice , is the IA 187 better or worse? BTW i'm talking 15"s

I love IA equipment and the 187 has great reviews, I think it would be a great choice.

for the money though i mean. 100 for a sonance in a box i built and know slams. Or a 187 , and new box for around double the price of the sonance?

The 187 would probably last longer depending on the physical condition of the sonance, and don't you like trying new things? =] Why not look for something else in that price range that is used in great condition?

I may do that. Just feeling out all the options. I want one big *** sub and output isn't a big thing for me , i like loud but i would rather have a low end monster than a fart machine. I'll have to keep an eye on the classifieds. You got anything laying around that'll make for a good substage? Amp/Single Sub 12" or larger? Remember , i'm working with a pretty tight budget.

Geoff , i may be able to throw those 2 5540's in on partial trade too. The 504x i have is quite nice if need be to run my front stage.
