Used Car Financing

Hey fellas,

i was wondering...could you finance a used car.

Say like a car is 5,000, and I only have like...2800, could I put like 2500 down and maybe pay weekly or until I get the money?

I want a 97-01 Ford Escort LX Sedan, I like the way they look, but my funds are lacking, had to pay 600 for car insurance until May to drive my dads metro and ranger...so..

Should I call the local dealers and find out what they can do?

Take out a small loan for the balance of the car.

Then make a visit to some dealers and banks and chat it up, see what your options are.

You're not gonna have much luck if you're 16.....if you have a bank account and have had no problems with it, they might be nice and be able to give you a loan, youd have to talk to someone at the bank though and see what they can do.....credit unions are good for used car loans too.....if it's from a dealer, you're not gonna be able to make a down payment and pay the rest off in installments unless you have a decent credit history.....if it's a private seller you might be able to sweet talk him into putting it on layaway provided you pay an interest rate.....your options are pretty limited though
