Use fuse rating when comparing amps

Thats one of the stupidest things Ive ever heard.

What happens when I am trying to compare my Orion 2500d? It has no fuses... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

That means its worthless, noob. But, since Im a nice guy, Ill give you $5 for it.

The higher the fuse rating the better the amp when comparing A/B amplifiers.
The rest is nothing but BS.
Its only one of several things you need to consider when choosing amps, generally an amp that has a high fuse rating will be capable of more power but you need to consider things like efficency, ohm capabilitys, thermal stability and so on. If you see a 1000 watt amp with a 20 amp fuse on it then your assumtion is correct to an extent.

My point is when comparing amp SPECS all you have to go by is fuse rating. When was the last time you saw an amp specification that listed effeciency.

I am not saying that an amp with a higher fuse rating is always better just that when you are looking at specs it is the best indication of power rating.

Ummm...NO...

All amps are different, all manufactures are a little different too, a lot use different boards, all amps have variations in effeciency, etc...

You really need NOT to use your thesis but on brands like Legacy, Pyle, etc when they say "1000watts" and have a 30amp fuse.

But most of the time you cant judge how much power they put out by the fuse rating. My 1100watt amp has 3x30amp fuses...so does the Profile CL1200 which only puts out 900 (off by 300watts)...of course you can guesstimate, but fuse ratings is NOT what you look at

Sorry, but....100% incorrect.

Base NOTHING off of fuse rating. NOTHING.

So, if I build a 25w x 2 @ 4ohm RMS, but stick 100A fuses in it, it would automatically be the best amp?
