Use a monoblock to run 6x9s??

Most class D monoblock amps are bandwidth limited by design. They're typically only good up to the 300hz range.

So you really would not want to run those on anything other than subs.

There are other monoblock amps capable of playing full range. But as was mentioned, with a single amp your only option would be mono sound, not stereo (though for rearfill, some would argue that this is actually desireable).

Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. I am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to car stereo, I just like to make sure and get others opinions. So one more opinion question. I decided not to use my 6x9's, just my sub in the trunk and my 6 1/2 components in the front. I have a pair of 6 1/2 midbass, so should I keep them close to the other components, or put them in place of the 6x9's. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Jeff
