And I go into work today and they walked me out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I was a 2nd shift supervisor at a pretty crappy large company. I think they fired me since I was posting my resume on online job places. I was making pretty good money for the place I was at but no where near what the median is for Supervisor I position. Add to that I only got a .25 cent raise even though I got rid of the bad employees, was working with new hires and production was up 5 fold.

so, now I will look for another job making what I should be, maybe start my own bussiness as well as possibly take over my fathers stained glass bussiness. Oh, and collect $355 a week from unemployment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That sucks. Hope you find something you like. The job market should pick up going into summer. Did you have an exit interview? I got fired once. I was sick for a few days, and was looking at monster and seen my job posted. They were planning on it but I was out sick. So I knew when I came in it was the end. When they asked If I had anything to say I said I was relieved. Now I could hang out all summer collecting.

if thats the reason, sue them for unfair dissmisal. Seek a years salary. Screw them. Unless they made you sign a waiver in order to collect. But still I would sue them. Its illeagal to fire someone for posting/looking/interviewing for other jobs. If you fail at your job, yes, but not for sending out a resume. Call James Sokolove, He makes them pay. Good luck.

hmmm, that be an idea. The place is run by an 83yo guy and he is a slave driver. They are no where near OSHA standards. The straps we used to lift most all had read showing. I could go on and on about the wrong withing this company. I hate the system with law suits willy nilly but you might be onto something. They never really gave me a reason but I will call on Monday and find out.

I contacted Sokolove via e-mail and will call them first thing Monday morning for a follow up before I call my old employeer.

This company was wrought with OSHA violation but I hate(d) to call since I really did not want anyone to lose thier jobs. This company was created as a union breaker and was told that any little slip the owner would close the company. So I will try to keep this a personal matter and not involve OSHA.

We will see what happens and I will post here. Thank you all for your help. I am not looking for money to retire on but if you guys knew how this man ran the company and treated the employees, you would see that some thing has to change. Most of the employees say the same and are awaiting the day when the old man dies..... Isn't that effing sad that in America this shit still happens.

Are you allowed to post online while at work? If no, then there isn't much you can do. My job states and I have signed, that if I am online while at work and caught, then I can get fired. Thank god as I haven't yet, but never know.

I never touched the computers at work other then to look at CAD files. So I am safe there. They got somebody to replace me so I am pretty sure they felt they where paying me too much (which was actually too little) and found a guy that would do it for $5 less an hour, from what I heard last night.
