Ok, nevermind. Forget this question. I just took apart my USB to 12v adapter and figured out how I could wire it and hook it up to the dashboard to do this. I just would need to cut a little hole in my dashboard and use a hot glue gun or something to attach it to the inside of the dashboard.
I did come up with another question... the ground wire in the adapter looks to be 20 gauge (slightly smaller than the wires from my CD Player, which is the standard 18 gauge). Is there a safety issue if I were to connect a 18 gauge wire (standard car audio cable) to the 20 gauge ground wire, which then would connect to the ground wires from the car and CD Player?
The spring on the adapter circuit board is the power... my plan is to cut it down to just a little bit of the spring, and then tape or solder an 18 gauge red wire to that, put on a 15 or 20 amp fuse holder, which then out the other end will be a red wire going to the power connection between the Car and CD Player.
I'm getting very anxious for this project, and may make a tutorial for this including pictures, or maybe a video tutorial.
