US XT4000D vs SUNDOWN SAZ1500D

I cannot comment about the US Amps stuff, haven't heard any in years. As far as Sundown being dirty, that is far from the truth. I am running the 1500D on two IDQ 10's and I couln't be happier. I also run the 100.4 active on Zapco RB comps and again couldn't be happier. For the money IMO they aren't alot of amps out there that perform like the Sundowns and I am basing that on SQ installs.

I'm not sure where you heard that Sundown amps are "dirty" but that cannot be farther from the truth. Many people, myself included, use them for SQ oriented installs.

The XT4000D can barely pass as a 900-watt amp, and tests have show thats about what it does.

There was actually a thread awhile back where Us Amps CEO (or someone higher up) was talking about how they are rating the amps higher because "that is what everyone does". The Xt line is not very good. If you want a US amp, look for an older generation.

Even if you know nothing of electronics and car audio looking at the guts of both of these amps should give you an idea of why they are totally different.

I'm not a sundown fanboi (I've actually never owned one, only heard them) and I have two U.S. amps in the basement. You couldn't give me a new XT to use.

I am not sold on the 4-channel sundown yet, but I will say without question my next sub amp will be sundown.

Does this help on the 4-channel:

I sent one to him, an Audison dealer, and he rated it close to his Audison amps in sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

"My first impressions were that I was not listening to an amp that retail for less than 500.00."

He is not, was not, and still isn't a Sundown dealer... but he did buy that 100.4 from me when he was done testing it. So I think he liked it just fine.

Perhaps I will give it a listen.

You build/design fantastic amps. My comment was more of I really haven't listened to a multi-channel from your company yet, so I couldn't comment on it. If they are anything like the sub amps, I'm sure I will be very impressed.

Indeed, I'm trying to get more multi-channels out there for guys to listen to... I sell way more multi-channels local retail than online so the word isn't around on the forums as much. One recent review of a 100.2 does come to mind, though:

He used it for a subwoofer application, but it gives you an idea of how strong they are.

Since Sundown is unknown for the general public I sell them on a "we'll install it, you don't like I will pull it and you pay nothing" I have yet to have one come out of a car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Any testing done in-car on the 100.4 like how you did on the 1500?
I'm not aware of any third party testing off hand, but you can be sure they do rated or above power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I was testing some amps for shipment to Singapore yesterday and clamped the 100.2 at a continuous 360 watts into 6 ohms bridged on Bass Mekanik.

Oh, I'm sure they do above rated power just like the 1500. I just think it's cool to see real world testing in cars since it seems more impressive that way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Its your money of course but looking at the guts I dont know why you would "waste" the money on the US Amp, spend the money on a matching Sundown for your front stage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I didn't pay attention to where your located but if you happen to be in SoCal, my "install it and dont like it" deal stands. Thats for anyone local.

I already own a 100.4 sundown, so that will for my RE comps and rears... Like i said, I recently heard the XT4 on an adire brahma mk2 and it sounded terrific.. Im not saying that its a better amp then sundown by any means.. I thought i was comparing apples and apples, apparently I wasnt.... The XT can be had for cheap and will make a great sub fill amp for the wifes car I think..

I think the XT will sound decent on the RF PWR412 (circa 1996 baby!!lol) in a sealed....

Thanks again
