As for testing an amp for clipping unloaded? Please DO explain... BTW, I have a cheapo POS velleman handscope too and I wouldn't even trust that thing compared to my old BK scope. I don't believe what you are saying, and you won't post some kind of proof of these results so we can tear them to pieces so bye, bye... you are a hater.

It seems like everyone who is saying that 06 is full of shit has some kind of connection to SD or has their name in there sigs, 'authorized rep' or a fan boy..... no one wants to hear that the equipment they are pushing/using/selling is not up to par. The dude obviously has used both and is giving an opinion on his use...most of you other guys (nutthuggers) have NEVER used a Us Amps monoblock....so WTF do you know?

Well... people that have not USED a 3000 won't know how it performs. So it seems obvious to me why people that have used them / own them / sell them / repair them and see them every day are in this thread talking about them.

You say nut huggers i say guys that have found some quality equipment and now stand behind it..We all say show us the proof and in case you dont now which obviously you dont dbr is that man when it comes to amps he has forgot more than you will ever know...and yes i have used us ampps sundown dd and i can say is sundown is on par us amps the older florida hand build models are badass but sundown is underrated period..

I don't give a crap. I have been watching him, he said in another thread, that he gained 1.5dB going from SAZ-3000D's to DDZ1's... I could see maybe 1dB if he mean DDZ1a because it's a larger amp, but not the old DDZ1, it's the same crap, older design. I have worked on both, SAZ-3000D, and DD Z1, and they are so similar there is NO WAY you could get a 1.5dB gain by switching, just not possible. I think he is just hating. Been a lot of people coming into this forum lately hating on Sundown. When stuff gets so popular, people start to get hateful towards it, just the way it works. If the SAZ-3000D was a POS I would tell you it was a POS I don't care about ties to Sundown. Only bad things about the SAZ-3000D, to me, being an amp tech, is that it is that **** self-oscillating design that is used in so many modern Class D amps, and it can be touchy with voltage changes, temperature changes etc... But the DDZ1 is ALSO the same self-oscillating design. I just don't like it. I prefer the design that is in the SAZ-1500D, which I will say, and I am sure Jacob has told many people as well, 2 x SAZ-1500D > 1 x SAZ-3000D. Problem is some people only have room to mount 1 amp. I just honestly think the guy is full of crap, especially the part about gaining 1.5dB by switching to the DD Z1 since despite it looking different to "technical Newbies" when it comes to the guts of amp, I can assure you it's very similar. No way a 1.5dB gain, I am calling BS on it.

DJ-dropbottommazda = has 4 3000's in his ride and have tested them repeatedly and if they weren't what they were represented he wouldn't run it

DB-r = Works and sees such a variety of amps, his mind is basically a circuit board.

not to mention all the independent test not down by sundown reps or team-members proving the amp is a beast.

no offensejacob but in spl your not useing a clean signal..... im talking clean unclipped wave form, that will not damage subs, at 14V the sundown 3000d does not impress me, the 1500d does....

Right - and he has nothing to lose bashing a product.

I do this for a living and sell the highest quality product possible and anyone can get online and say "this product sucks" and then I have to come along and defend it if they have any valid evidence or not. People can get on their computer and make comments that may hurt my business with no negative consequences - so YES, I have something to gain by defending my product.

Has he posted photos of testing ? No.

Has anyone else found the 3000s to be over-rated ? No.

Do we know if his equipment is properly calibrated ? No.

He is making a claim to a FACT - that is very different from an opinion.

It is called scientific practice... if 1000 people do a test and get one result and 1 guy does it and gets a different result. Who do you think is right ? Is the "different" result some how better ?
