Updrading Subs

I have an SX12 in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to 35hz with a viper 1200.1

i either want a 15 SX or a 15 XXX, if i got a 15 XXX would 1200 watts make it a good bit louder than my SX?(for overall loudness everyday, not comps)

i want to port the 15s at around 5cu ft( would that be a good size for a 15?) tune them to 30-32hz

would i need to upgrade to a bigger amp and which one would u reccommend if i get the XXX?

my SX dosent get the lows that great( i guess its the box) but the XXX would sound 2x better right?

by going from a 12 to a 15 and dropping ur tuning u'll definitely pick up some lows..lol..

adn the xxx will do fine off 1200wrms..but i believe in that case, the sx would be a better choice...a lil cheaper, more then likely just as loud, and sq is going to be up to u..lol..

so for 1200 watts the SX will be louder for everyday driving? I would like an XXX but i dont really want to spend the xtra $$$ on one, and i heard that before a couple times "off 1200 an SX will be louder" but if i did want an XXX what amp would be cheap to power it good about 1500-1600 and not totally kill my electrical, are there other 15s that would be louder 4 same price? and is 5 cu ft big enough or should i go bigger i want it tuned to like 30 0r 32

According to WinISD, the SX is slightly louder than the XXX. If you're looking for more SPL, consider Digital Designs.

i'm not going to say it's (the sx) will definitely be louder then the xxx..but by all accounts, it'll at least be even. an with the lower power...it'll just be the better choice...

there are many 1ohm stable amps that'll put out the power ur looking for, if u decide to get the xxx...but i'd recommend keeping the amp u have and just getting the sx...should be just what ur looking for...

You have enough room for 2 RE SE 15" ported? I wanted 2 12"SX but I might just add two more SE's and run 4 12" SE's sealed, Ive got two ported now.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but how do you like those SEs? How is the sound quality? I've got a 16Kv.2 right now and I'm thinking about swapping it for a SE15 later this summer.

Go with a RE SX 15 put it in a 4 cub box tuned to 35hz with about 45 square of port it will wang. The amp you have willl be a perfect match for a RE SX 25.

I haven't had any experience with Alphasonik but I hear they're a bit overrated..
