k the z06 is 75k.. the gt500 is 45k.. the vette is 48k.. so for 30k that gt500 would walk all over the z06.. hell probably with half that.. for 3k it would probably stomp the vette.. idk the specs all that well on the new vettes.. the z06 didn't even STOMP the gt500 when it came out.. it beat it and the viper but not by a huge margin..

For 8K I could build a 5.0 based fox body that walks all over any of these in the 1/4, that isn't the point.

Point is dollar for dollar GM still makes the best performance vehicles stock.

Exactly. Who cares about the top speed of a car anyway? 0-60 and 1/4 mile is all that matters, on the street.

You are missing my whole point. I said the GT500 that this is about costs way more than the SS. You said that was an excuse. Now you are making excuses just like that (just as I said you would), that was what I was winking about.
The ZR1 beats the GT for less money, and last I checked you couldn't still get a GT anyways.

The new 11 5.0 GT is right up there now too. All 3 are bad ass cars and anyone would be happy to drive any.

I don't think so. The ZR1 has lower 1/4 times out there, better ring time (N) and is generally thought to be the greatest bang for the buck sports car ever. I don't think I'm taking a leap to state it beats the GT. (doesn't mean I'd necessarily even rather have the ZR1, as I LOOOVE the GT)

As far as looks are concerned, I'd rather have the GT 500 or an SRT8 Challenger. But that's just personal preference. I don't care for the futuristic look Chevy is going for with the Camaro and new vette concept. It's just not my style...

The starting price on the Shelby is $48,645, on the Corvette is $48,930, and on the Camaro is $30,945.

I'll take a Corvette.

Yeah, I'm guessing that's true.

Could buy a discounted 2010, and throw on a whipple (or similar). I drove one 2 weeks ago......it was vette fast!
