Underseat Amp, mounting method ?

I have a 2011 4runner I'm putting a system in and need some install ideas. I'm going to put a JL 700/5 under the

passenger seat and want to know the best way to mount it. I am also putting a Audio Control LCQ 1 and the crosovers under the drivers seat. Unless you have some other (Stealth) location for this equipment.....

Any ideas are appreciated

Just remove the seat and keep in mind that you might want to access the amp's gains/crossovers/switches etc after the seat is reinstalled. I would also sit the amp in the area you want it and move the seat through its full range of motions, just to make sure nothing will hit/snag the amp or intended cable paths.

you can drill into the car frame floor with self tapping screws....if you dont want to do that then you can zip tie the amp's feet to nearby parts of the seat...

the only problem with under seat amp installs are:

-lack of cooling, especially on class a/b amps

-unless you have amazing clearance the amp will get scratched up pretty bad

-the feet of any back seat passengers might damage the amp depending on how its mounted. im pretty sur ethose 700/5's are long, so it'll likely stick out the back and be right at the back passengers feet.

IMO, look into other mounting locations.

Accidents happen-how about a soda being spilt/coffee/tea/water/???Candy chips/ onion rings???Ect.I dont recommend placing any amp under any front seats at all-Heat as well..that amp mounted on the wood thing??I suggest that if thats the way you are going to mount it..just place the wood under the feet of the amp,not the whole amp,and let some air circulation get around it..#1 reason right there folks that amps go bad/burn up-no air circulation/mounted flat against carpet/on a pounding sub box ruining the internals ect.You have a hudge vehicle with several places to place that 1 amp??I could understand if you were in a 2seater coupe. But I recommend another place to anyone..put that amp in the back away from everyone, and all.Take another look.My opinion to you,and highly suggest!!!
