So at the moment my car has installed an almani pa900.2 Amp, and a pioneer 3001d (1000 rms)(these came with one of my cars so i put it to use) and im eventually installing my Alpine type R's (1000 rms as well) to a sounstream 2000 watt amp (1300 rms split into 2 subs). Now my question is, even thouigh the soundstream amp will under rate these subs, if i used my type R's one at a time on my amani amp to break them in, would this hurt them? Ibviously 750 watts is underrating them, but i feel like 450, or even 250 which i think is what im pushing could be more harmful if at all.

The reason "underpowering" could be considering hurting your subs is because you are trying to push your amplifier too hard, not your subs too little. Say if you had a 1000 w rms subwoofer and you were attempting to power it with a 500 watt rms amplifier, and you turn your gain up on the amp to compensate with its rated (clean) power production, you might send a clipped signal.
