I was trying to find out how exactly they make diamond domes for these tweeters and stumbled onto this...

From what it says they synthetically grow the diamonds into cone shapes, or at least B&W does it that way. Pretty interesting stuff.

It's not a real diamond. IIRC its synthetic diamond molded into a dome shape. There was a long writeup/review on this tweeter. They made it out of diamonds because of its strength and ability to withstand distortion up to 100,000hz

still not worth the price IMO. i wouldnt buy it if i was bill gates. i dont have an ear for a 2600 dollar tweeter. plus all i listen to is rap, i dont need that kind of a tweeter.

who cares if a tweeter can play up to 100kHz.... I can only hear up to about 18kHz. I know that sound above 20kHz has an influence on harmonics.... but seriously... 100k is just useless
