I can mount my tweeters mids virtually anywhere in front of car.

I propose to have the mids fairly low down the doors. Should I angle them slightly towards me or have them firing straight. Tweeters can be angled on windscreen pillar or higher up on doors.

From a sound quality point of view what is best place for them.

They are good high end quality components.

Ideally you want the mids as far away from you and each other as you can get them. Because the driver and passenger are both off center on the soundstage, you want to try to get the pathlengths between each listener and the left and right speakers as close as possible to the same to minimize the effect of the off center position. To maximize stereo separation and widen the soundstage as much as possible, you want the speakers as far apart as possible. The most common solution for both of these desires is the kickpanel installation. This puts the speakers as far forward (bottom of the footwell) and as far apart (opposite sides of the car) as possible.

In addition, you ideally want the mid and tweet as close to each other as possible to provide a "point source" for the sound. This aids in the optimal transistion between speakers and helps to keep the tweeter from localizing high frequencies. This is only a suggestion though. The best option is to put the mids where you want them. Experiment with angling them if you can. Once you have the mids where you want them, wire up the tweets with a long piece of wire and try various mounting locations and angles sticking them in place with Blu-tack or such until you find where they sound best to you. Once you find the sweet spot, figure out how to permanently mount them.
