Ugh this is obnixious

no need to go all internet tough guy on me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. I think your thoughts on what a ricer is, are much different that many other's thoughts. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but doesn't honda have plants here? Doesn't honda pay american workers? Doesn't honda give us much better gas milage than most domestics? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I'm not a car buff at all, I just think your reasoning is retarded. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifI would still like to know how american's driving honda's is driving our econic status into the ground //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif So do you not own anything sony, let alone many other companies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Having plants here does NOT mean the bulk of their profits stay here. They go to Japan and stay there......nuff said on that topic. Buying Hondas drives down our economy because when you buy one the money leaves the country and doesn't come back. What is so hard to understand.?

Oh and I never said Hondas were "ricers". I said they were rice-burners. There is a difference.

how do you like your honda? what year is it etc.?
I have 2 Hondas currently but have owned all kinds of cars. Right now, I have a 2004 Civic Si, and my wife drives a 2004 Element. (About 40 grand into the economy right there!)My last car was an '88 Civic Wagon (commuter) while my Wife drove a gas-guzzling 2002 Silverado. Prior to those we had a pair of '89 Civic Hatchbacks and an '84 Accord in there too, not to mention my wifes pile of shit '91 Lumina she had in college. I had a money pit of a 1975 Jeep Cherokee (full size) I had a 1970 Pontiac something and a '72 Nova for a while in high school, and have owned a few Volkswagens too. I love our Hondas, believe in the product ( i work on them for a living) and appreciate the fuel economy and reliability, that is why I have owned so many.

I like having companies compete to give the best product at the best price, so I am anti american. I would bet you own products made by foreign companies and companies that outsource labor. You are such an anti-american. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Own Nikes? what about the poor Korean fuks that are getting jobbed when all that sneaker $$$ leaves for America, and what about Taiwan who wouldn't exist if we didn't buy thier inexpensively made products? The Union system has had more to do with dicking up the economy than Japaneese automakers. If it was feasable/possible to make products here manufacturers would I think- but our economy is so strong compared to other countries labor and materials are absurdly priced compared to alternatives. If GM still made every car in Detroit, they would be out of buisness because of the UAW- who is still kicking thier ***.

I am jumping into this thread a bit late but, i think that history is merely repeating istelf a little bit here. There was a gas shortage in early 70's, wasnt it japanese auto makers who first introduced those smaller cars while american companies were still selling boats on wheels? definitley some similarities. Its not that american car companies arent doing anything about trying to get more fuel efficient cars, its just that once they have a concept, they are too conservative because they are scared of change and therefore will just keep on improving the explorer's looks and upping its size. Years, years ago i was reading a popular science magazine and there was an article about a ford concept, (this must of been early 90's) about some "sportier" hybrid car getting 90 miles to the gallon. for 10 bucks you have a 500 trip on that tank. The car looked nice, and really would of grabbed attention. What happened? ford taurus's and then kept on rollin' (taurus = poop only IMO)

Way to be an ignorant *******, especially how you ignored my entire post and asked me what nationality I am.

I'm not a blind nationalist like you. The japanese make more reliable and practical cars than domestics. Wanna know why that is? Because our education system is failing us. We are falling behind because none of us know any math and can't reason worth two shits. Being honest and buying the better product forces America to confront its real problems at hand instead of sweeping them under the rug. At the least, it forces domestic car manufacturers to be more competitive and make better products. If we want to stay the richest nation in the world, we need to work towards it like every other freaking nation.

its not just the education system imo...though it is pretty crappy and not properly funded. Parents are just as much to blame in many cases, thought the government does nothing to take kids from these situations //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif. Asians (at least the ones I know) tend to have strict parents that'll definately let definately get on if they fok up. Morals in america for teh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.

Thats very true, parents are the greatest influence any child can have. I think our society as a whole is caught up in bullshit that doesn't really matter. We've lost any desire to learn and grow, instead we are wrapped in a world of appearances. I don't want to know where our generation will end up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Asians have both a gift and a curse in our country. They can't get anywhere through image like most Americans can, so their parents are hard on them so that they succeed through academics. The end result is that they pwn most of our tech industry.

man, missed a great fight //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

what the hell are you talking about? A special few people in the world can afford products like those, are you saying all amps should cost 3 times what they are worth? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif as for your hate against honda, nissan and toyota... I dont get that either.

I am talking about how businesses don't have to sell to the masses and cut costs by building in cheaper labor zones to be profitable. I believe outsourcing of labor was the point of the thread. I disagree with the claims that this outsourcing is hurting the american economy as well as hurting the quality of products. I would never own a foreign car, but that is because I am obstinate, not because they are poorly made cars.

Being a resident of Nashville, the Nissan plant is crucial to the economy of middle Tennessee. Because of this infrastructure, we have many other car manufacturers and supliers providing both sources of revenue for the state and employment for its residents. I agree with you Bike regarding these foreign investments in the US>

Bike Junkie, Thank you for serving our country , we appreciate it. But I think you are sadly mistaken by calling American cars UNreliable and not fuel effecient. I have had 3 brand new amercian carsa,1998 GTP, 2000 Saturn and 19995 chevy blazer. Saturn went to dealership once, GTP went once and Blazeer went once, The GTP and Saturn were very fuel effecient and man did I beat that saturn. THe paint on it was great to. none of these cars had rattles either. So you are jsut as guilty as the other guy stating BS stuff. Imports and domestics ARE reliable, But like I said, my money stays here when possible. The auto industry plays a big role in our economy. Millions of our people have jobs pertaining to the auto industry. One thing I will never understand is wehn I see a WW2 Veteran driving a Jap car. Really strange to me.

Ralph
