What would a 40 watts x 2 amp NOTICABLY do a decent pair of 6.5 inch coaxials (Alpine SPR-17LP or JBL Power Series 652) compared to a 2006 Honda Civic head unit pushing about 15-20 watts RMS ?

Where would the installer mount the amp as there is no room under the front seats ?

I missed the part where he's asking about products.

On topic, a decent external amp is going to provide much more dynamic range for dealing with complex and demanding music, without clipping or otherwise distorting...the difference at higher volumes will be very noticeable.

As for the amp...anywhere he could fit it. The trunk would be a good place.
