Well, I have a couple of comments, first the reason you don't see a lot of '70's Hondas running around is because the Civic arrived in the US in 1972 and did not reach 1 million units of production until 1976. The Accord was released in 1976 (CVCC) and reached 1 million unit production in 1980.By '87 Civic production was at 5 million units, and the Accord coupe was US made and being exported to Japan. Honda has been here and doing things here other manufacturers are just now trying to copy because thier buisness model works. There are not a lot of 70's Hondas running around because there weren't many of them to begin with (compared to the big 3) and it is widely known the safety mechanisim in a collision is crumple zones, as with any unibody car, and they didn't have the mass to survive collisions like a Suburban or a Duster. I like American muscle cars but you can't blame a company like Honda or Toyota for the fact America's economy is struggling and American cars **** right now, and have for 30 years with a few exeptions. Think how bad the economy would be going without all the employment of all the "import" dealerships, manufacturing plants, parts warehouses, etc...and if everyone drove a huge inefficient vehicle like the big 3 keep peddling........
- You don't think you are a bit biased being from Michigan do you? Come out west sometime....there are FAR less domestics running around out here
