us amps makes a great product. if you go over 1000 watts + just make sure you have juice (alt and battery) i would lean towards ohio gen or iragi alts and agm cells (dry mantainance free) like kinetik.

All a\b amps draw a tad more current than a class d amp, they also make class d amps that do not draw alot of current

a 1000 watts either class a/b or d is alot of power to add to your stock electrical. not saying a stock system cant do it just saying its better to know you have your bases covered. the old us amps like i had pulled about 160 amps each at full tilt.

class d is more efficient yes but it still falls under ohms law V*A=W class D gets you 10-20% less waisted power usually.

the only way you could follow ohms law and be exact is if the amp is 100% efficient

EVERYTHING in electricity follows ohms law 100%. true i didnt account for exact efficiency but it is well known class d are about 10-20% more efficient as i stated (some claim more but usually still fall in these lines) but to my point you cant get 2000 watts with 13v and a 50 amp draw either.

Are there any other good brand amps that don't draw a whole lot of power but put out about 2 channels at 2 ohms with about 300 - 500 watts rms that are smaller because I have a small space.

us amps aren't in-effiecient. their huge class AB's is what gave them the rep for drawing a lot of current. with any huge class AB, ...... if you're not drawing big power, you're not making big power. like their old usa 6000 (6000 watts) took about 900 amps or so at full tilt. their class D's are very efficient and their class AB's are just as efficient as the rest in the industry.

like audiolife's comment about a 2kw claim and the amp only draws 50 amps. if the amp is drawing 50 amps, it sure in the heck isn't getting any where near 2kw.

there's lot's of decent amps out there. lunar and DD amps are a couple that pack some power in a small foot print.
