Type-X. Worth the cash?

yah mine, (the one mattf showed above), is kisk a** low end, but as soon as it gets anywhere in the highs, it gets quieter really quick. im really happy with it though.

works for me. You wouldnt be willing to part with those box plans would ya?

i had an X it wasnt loud at all. But it sounded Great!

i liked it but it just wasnt loud enough for me i think i would sell the amp to get one that suits the R's before i got the X IMO.

Something to keep in mind is that the type-X isn't simply a better type-R, it's a different beast entirely, and sounds different to the type-R's. As others have said it's a low end monster, and this is what it excells at. The type-R's are actually better in the higher bass/midbass area than the X.

you are talking about the newer Rs right? cause i would tend to disagree.. the new Rs i think are bottom dwellers compared to a lot of the subs out right now. i think they tend to trail off quickly past like 50 hz..

though the X may be more of a low end monster.. and i think it sounds cleaner.. but i think the Rs are comparable

I have one and an mrd m1005 and am finishing glassin a 1.3 cubed box after displacement for x 12. I havnt heard this one yet, but a buddy of mine has a tahoe with 4 type x 12's and 4 hifonics bx1500d amps in a ported box at 32 hz about 12 cubes or a little more and when that system is turned up man, it feels like ur whole body is gettin trampled by an elephant, or like ur standing behind a jet thats takin off. it is NUTS and those things are NASTY loud.

everyone over exaggerates the performance gap between the type-x and the type-r

everyone seems to think the x isn't NEARLY as loud as the type-r's, but i swapped out my type-x's for type-r's for a few weeks (best buy rental) and i was really disappointed with the r's. There wasn't much of an increase (if any, def. not noticeable) in loudness, and the SQ SUCKED compared to the x's.

I gaurantee most of the people talking about how much type-x's **** a) have never heard one and b) have a type-r.

Type X > Type-r. Looks/power handling/SQ/ and ESPECIALLY the ****ing lows!!!!

You haven't heard shit until you hear a type-x burp out some 25hz nonsense. You can barely hear those freq's, but then you'll wonder why your ears are bleeding, and your little sister's been walking around in circles and drooling for the past few days since you gave her a ride home from school.

They're nasty.

Im running a sealed setup, not ported. If i was goin ported I would have gone AT LEAST 2 cubes.

When cab500 got his type X we tried it in a 1.7ft sealed box and it sounded like poo. When you get your running be sure to post how it does in that box. I'm interested in seeing how your's sounds. Hopefully you get better results than we did.
