Type-X. Worth the cash?

Im looking at selling my 2 10" type-Rs. (not because i dont like them, just a amp/sub mismatch) I have a m1005 and was thinking that one 12" type-x might be a good investment, as i like alpines sound, and i was very impressed with my type-rs. Ive heard good things about the SQ of the type-x. Is this a good upgrade? I found them on etronics for $250 a peice.

Get the X dude...EXTREMELY accurate sub, and has a low end thats crazy.

Yeah but will it sound as clean? Also thats gonna require a huge box will it not? Im trying to free up alittle trunk space, and if i like it i can always add another m1005 and another 12.

The X should have more SQ than the R.

I don't think you will be unahppy with it, but it is all install dependant.

cab500 on here has one in a 2.5ft box tuned to 32hz. I think it sounds awesome and it gets loud too. You won't be disappointed with it.

A 12" type-X? Word. Im excited too, it looks like i will be able to sell my type-Rs for enough to cover the price of the sub, so its a good trade up.

Something to keep in mind is that the type-X isn't simply a better type-R, it's a different beast entirely, and sounds different to the type-R's. As others have said it's a low end monster, and this is what it excells at. The type-R's are actually better in the higher bass/midbass area than the X.

yah mine, (the one mattf showed above), is kisk a** low end, but as soon as it gets anywhere in the highs, it gets quieter really quick. im really happy with it though.
