Type X or PG elites

I have Alpine typs S 6X9's and 6.5'' speakers in my car. On the alpine MRP-F240 amp. I wana upgrade, on E-Bay i can get type X component sets for about 220 each (kick *** price considering the retailer i go to wants over 400). OR i can get PG titanium elite component sets for about 340 per set. Is it worth it to step up and go with the PG ones? or should the X's be fine, i dont wana compete for SQ but i wana have that car where when people sit in it they go wow... this sounds GREAT!

pg elites are the way to go. They are worth the extra money for sure.

I have to back the other two up on this one. PG Elites all the way. They're made by Morel and the detail that they present are 2nd to none.

Thanks for the advice guys! I think im gonna go with the elites. No i didnt look into the other brands that are out there, im spoiled, plus im afraid to go with anything i cant hear first. Extreme audio can demo them both for me so thats one of the biggest reasons i am deciding between these 2.

I say demo them both and take power into consideration. Its hard to get good midbass out of the Elites or Morel drivers period without some real power. Best application on the 6.5" set I've heard was active ran 100rms per driver and even so the mids could've used more.

and I hope you would put some real power to them considering that they can handle such an extreme amount of power. anyways morel speakers are some of the finest sounding speakers out.

He also said he was leaning towards the Elites. I have not heard the Alpine X's but who am i to say they wont sound better to him. Also how they are auditioned- soundboard vs car and how much power they see will be a huge factor in the perception of these speaks performance. You have to keep these things in mind when auditioning stuff. Some soundboards have sealed enclosures- big difference when you go put those same speakers in a shallow door and expect the same performance.

but how would those fair AGAINST the Elites ? i mean they are 150 RMS per side. thats a lot for 6.5's, no? silk tweets and on that site they are like regular 300$. but that doesnt mean too much i guess.

The xenons sound great. The silk tweets are smooth, unlike alum ones, and the midbass is strong. You cant beat em imo for the price.

hey Mackenzie, that's what u had told me awhile back and u seem to be right. so im curious what MORE benefits the Elites have, if any? i mean they are more pricey, so why not go with the Xenons?? save a few bucks too!
