type s subs?

ive heard a lot of talk about type r subs, but never too much about type s. is type r really that much better? i mean, its the same company, and type s subs are 300 watts rms, as opposed to 500 watts on the type r's. looking at pricing, you could get 3 type s's for the price of 2 type r's easily. anyone out there have some info or an opinion on type s subs? what would also be helpful would be naming some other subs that you might compare a type s too.

to some the type r is way better because it can handle a lot more than the stated 500 watts, i listen to a couple type s and they sounded decent but i would maybe look into an image dynamics sub (IDQ series) or the kicker comp VR instead of the type S

o and there are some lesser known subs that could work well too, Incriminator audio 187's or RE RE subs, or elemental designs 13kv.2, or soundsplinter rl-i's

any of the lesser known subs would be a nice setup from the type s

type R subs are built with great construction, not that the S isnt but the R is made much more efficient better cooling, hamr enigneering , better surrond , better power handling, and not tp mention the R looks sooooo much beeter than all the rest, check out the booty.... R

first off what are you trying to achieve with this setup? SPL SQL or SQ. then Ill recomend some subs

i agree with this and radavis2004's posts 100% (except for the fact that BOTH the type s and type r have HAMR engineering...)
