Type-Rs vs P3s?

Between Type-Rs and P3s, which set up should I go with...

[2] Alpine 12" Type R SWR-1242D

[2] Alpine V-Power MRP-M850

[2] Rockford Fosgate 1-Farad Capacitors RFC1D

[1] Rockford Fosgate 4 Gauge RFK4D

[1] Rockford Fosgate 4 Gauge RFK4D

[1] Enclosure unsure.

or

[2] Rockford Fosgate P3D412

[2] Rockford Fosgate P1000-IBD

[2] Rockford Fosgate 1-Farad Capacitors RFC1D

[1] Rockford Fosgate 4 Gauge RFK4D

[1] Rockford Fosgate 4 Gauge RFK4D

[1] Enclosure unsure.

I am also unsure of the type of enclosure to put these two subs into. I drive a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero. Thanks for the input.

Setup 3!

The 2 type R's..

A bigger amp..

No cap.. possibly a battery? Or HO Alt.. althought your not pushing a whole lot of power..

And a nice ported enclosure.. that some TypeR fanatics will recommend (not me)..

I say search around for what some people with some R's are using, or recommending.. and see from there.. good luck with the build!

Although.. I guess I don't really know what your going for.. SQ.. SPL.. etc.. so you will have to decide on that..

I've heard all three, and had Mach 5 Maws. I say go Maws, but I'm biased. They're cheaper and sound more crisp.

Plus they are a **** ton cheaper. Aaaand you'll be probably the only one around with them.

As said before don't do a cap.

I'd rather go for a mono block amp instead of an amp for each sub.

Maybe the RF T5001BD or Kicker zx/kx1500.

4ga is fine for wiring.

In the wiring section you could take a look at the Big 3 thread. I didn't do any of that (big 3, h/o alt) on my T10001bd and I never got any dimming, but I don't know what amperage your alt runs at.

Just be safe and do the big 3.
