Type R's vs. L7's... lol

Ok, my friend has two Type R's and he bet another friend that his were louder than the kids L7's. They are both getting metered today. I will post results later this afternoon.

The Type R setup is:

2000 Grand AM

Subs: 2 Type R's 12"

Amp:Memphis MCD1000(1100RMS running @ 1 ohm, prolly more, no voltage drop)

Wire:And Stinger 4awg.

Box:4ft^3 @ 34hz

Other info: Subs are facing back

L7 setup:

Car:96 Civic(not hatchback)

Subs:Two 12" L7's

Amp: Directed D2400(1200rms @ 1ohm)

Wire:8awg cheapo

Box: Prefab, not sure(pretty small tho)

Other Info: Subs facing Forward

I think the L7s will get louder, but the arghhhhh will sound good doing it. But the specs look better for the R so who knows

unless thats an amazing prefab box, between that and the 8awg wiring for 1200 supposed watts, that guy is really hiding the potential of the L7's.

Well, the L7 setup is weak IMO. I mean seriosly, 8 guage wire? lol. But idk, we will find out. I will post results. Thought you guys might be interested so i thought i would post
