Ok, I am getting the 2005 type x 6.5 components and a now have the 2004 type r's. What are the things I will notice? Will I be able to run the gains higher on my amp(about half right now for the r's before they distort), will mid bass be better, will it be louder, better sounding? I know they are suposed to be good but I want to get some comparisions to the r's. I am not having any luck searching for info on the x's. Thanks

from what I've heard, the X's are SQ, laid-back type of drivers.. good sounding, but not meant for spl reasons. If you want loudness, you might be better off with the Type R's

hes not talking about the subs, yes go w/ the type-x's and your gain should not be at the half way mark...

I had to have it on high pass and I set the gains right before it distorted at 7/8s volume. I pretty sure it is set correct. I can only run the gains at half with the high pass turned off. I would hope the x's will take more power.

What is the difference between the Alpine SPX 177R and the SPX 177A?...Also, would you reccomend the MB Quart PCE-216 or the Alpine? Thank you...If possible, please let me know the difference in sound and performance between the two..Thanks again
