Type-Rs not playing

Yea I was wondering about it being the headunit but the fact that it was happening when I had the sub amp getting its signal from my older speaker amp makes me wonder. When I had it hooked up like that the speaker amp would still play but the sub amp would stop. I have gotten a couple of stops now with my new mean machine and sundown both cutting out and back on at the same time but that only happened twice. Usually its only my subs cutting out. When both my amps where cutting out I also didnt have the Big 3 done so that might had something to do with my voltage drops as it only happened when I had it at full tilt. But now my speaker amp doesnt cut out once again its just the sub amp and I dont get big voltage drops anymore. I will check the wiring once again and take the subs out when I get home and check that but everything else is tight.

I just took the subs out and they are wired to 1 ohms correctly with positive to positive and negative to negative and none of the wires were hanging out or not tight...I also looked at the amp while this happens and the amp does not go into protect mode nor does it cut off...maybe my HU is the problem...RCAs arent pinched either and nothing is cut...

ya dude idk, seriously it could be that to. if you have a spare try it out

check your ground on the sub amp. this happened to me and i had to tighten down the ground
Wouldnt a bad ground cause the amp to turn off or go into protect??? Because the amp still shows a green light when this happens...ground is also very tight..maybe I should move it....

Hmm I think I may have fixed it...The wiring was coming loose out of the inline fuse....I put it back together tightly and went for a 2 hour full tilt ride with no problems...New question though...Usually when I get done driving I will pop the trunk and feel how warm the subs got....Usually my left one gets warm all around the dust cap but the right one only get warm on the center of the dust cap...Is that anything to worry about like maybe one sub is getting more power than the other??? I know the subs are different years same model though...I think my left one is maybe 3-4 years old and the right one to be 1-2 years old...

why are you running two different subs? and yes that could mean one is getting more power, or one is cooling better than the other, etc... companies dont put out the same exact subs each yr.

Its not my fault I was sold two type rs but one was a 2 ohms and one was 4 ohms. The guy I bought them from was suppose to be a car audio head but it seems like he wasnt because he didnt even know he had two different ohm subs running in the same box...I found someone on craiglist selling 3 4 ohms and traded my 2 ohm for one of his 4 ohms...But there cant be much different between the two subs since they are both 4 ohm subs and same model number....

so why not just trade for 2 of the same yr subs?

yea theres not that much different but it can make a difference.

Honestly do you think someone would trade me a type-r for another type-r of the same ohm rating and size??? I wouldnt even be able to tell if they would be the same year models unless someone teaches me how to decode alpines serial numbers....The other person might think Im trying to trade them a blown sub or a nearly blown sub if I wanted to trade for the same exact thing....Also if I couldnt find someone in my area it would be a waste of shipping money to do a exact exchange....I was happy that I found someone that would trade the 2 ohm for a 4 ohm because I talked to more than 15 different people about trying to do that...
