I need any help I can get.....I got two type r's 12" running off of two amps the alpine 1000 and 850 and basicaly I have them hooked up to a kinteics battery the hc600 and also to a 200 amp isolator because i have the stock battery which its voltage is to low so that is what I have the isolater for. Now I have a decent sealed box but it sounds horrible right now like ****in awful and I cannot figure it out. I cannot set the amp or the stereo right and the stereo is a premier 980bt deck. I have eveything hooked up right but it still sounds awful, can anyone help I am lost really lost the **** things sounded better when it was hooked up to one sony amp but that amp blew out after five days and also the subs are dual 4 ohm as in 4 ohms per coil and I have it hooked up for two ohms

ya don't have a choice though they were given to me but it turns out my alternator is way to little to I gotta get a much more powerful one to add on the the kintetic battery and the 200 amp isolater along with gauges to monitor all this

running different amps on same subs is not good...

I had a friend who had his setup like that and it didnt sound very great.

the subs are seeing different power and maybe creating some cancelation? correct me if im wrong.

ok each amp is running one sub there are two that are really closley identical one is the mrp-1000 and the other amp is the mrp-m850 they are really similar but not exactly the same the 850 is basically the same model and we had each amp going to one sub then we had the subs interconectted as in the speaker terminals were linked together however turns out the problem is my stock amp and battery are destroying the power even though I have that 200 amp isolator and the kinetic battery. I have to get a more powerful alternator and battery along with gauges to monitor the voltage but that is true can the sound be affected if the subs are right next to eachother but being run off of different amps however the amps are different the 1000 is 1000 watts rms at 2ohms and the 850 is 850 watts rms at 2 ohms is that really bad:crap:

My bro had 2 Type R'' and in a neon and pushed the type R's with a bxi2006d and he didnt have a spare bat. and he drew out 1800 watts out of a neon so that power is probably not that big of problem, its the fact your putn 1000 to one speaker and 800 to the other im guessing. and put those 12'' in a ported box and let them go to the potential

Honestly, who the hell puts two different amps on the same type of speaker? And yes, I know it is one on each. And you wonder why your shit sounds like ***!

Is not a power issue, although that helps, but you need to hook up one of them to the two subs and I betcha you will be surprised. That or sell the two you have now and get 1 good 1000 plus RMS amp and call it a day.

you dont have the subs wired to each other and an amp to each sub do you? cause that is the way it sounds like you described above! that wont work at all if so!

2 of the same subwoofers wired to 2 completely different amps would be pushing 2 different amounts of power to each sub, which would mean that the linear displacement of each sub would be different, which would/could cause AWFUL cancellation.
