type-r wiring help

Kind of new to the game so I just wanted to check to make sure I do this right. I have a Kicker zx550.3 and a 4 ohm dvc 12" type-r. Amp puts out 420W RMS at 2 ohms. Sweet. Thanks. I've installed systems in a lot of my buddie's rides but when I get to wiring the subs I get overwhelmed. I usually say screw it, connect it and let them know I wont be held responsible for anything. lol Any other suggestions before I hook everything up later this week? Like already said, I have the Kicker zx550.3 amp, 4ohm dvc 12" type-r sub, Alpine cda-9886 deck, type-x 6.5" components up front and kicker ks4100 4x10 2 ways in the rear.
