Ok, I know i'm gonna get flamed for this regardless but anyway. I have searched on the subject and read through at least 20 threads but I never really found an answer to my question.

So I spent about 800-900 dollars on a system, hoping id be the loudest around here on a decent budget. 2 12" Rs, which will NOT be underpowered like most are....they will be seeing anywhere from 1000-1200 watts a piece. Then the other day my buddy went and ordered 2 12" L7s, 04 models. He's running them off a ZX1500.1, so i guess they'll see 800-850 a piece. His are gonna be in a sealed box under his seat, probably about a cube per sub. Mine are gonna be in 5.5 cubes, tuned to 32 hertz.

I'm not asking for exact db readings or anything, I just want an answer to my question....We should be about neck and neck just going by ear, right? I just don't want to get owned, because then I'd be forced to spend even more money.

Both installs are in trucks.

Depends on the install. Unless you **** up huge, I'd say you'll easily be louder.

lol....well the box im building is about as simple as it gets for ported, so as long as the cuts are good and i dont forget to silicone it, theres not much i could f**k up huge.

i almost got 2 l7s but 225 shipped for 2 12" bnib Rs was hard to resist.

thats like asking why do people have competitions.....why don't you go on termpro and make that post.

maybe i want to be the loudest in my town....im just young and stupid i guess....i do care about how mine sounds to me only but maybe i also want to be able to pull up next to someone bragging about how loud their walmart sh** is and stomp them into the ground.

If he built a better box for his L7s id have to say his set up would be louder...but im partial to kicker and have never been an alpine fan when it came to there subs

he isnt building it better....he has that box built already. came out to like 2.75 cubes total after displacement. so 1.35ish a piece.
