hey guys, i am thinking about upgrading my current sub setup and wanted to hear your opinions...

right now i have a RF 250wX2 rms amp that i want to push two type-r 10s with or possibly type-s's

would this be enough power for either?

how would it sound in comparison to my current infinty reference dvc 10" subs

it would be in a custom sealed box the infinintys are in and i would plan to keep the current amp...

would it be worth it for the upgrade? either type-r or s? thanks guys!!!

Probably not worth the upgrade with that amp, because that is not enough power for Type Rs. Maybe if you bridged the amp on 1 Type R, and made a ported enclosure you might see improvements

well i might be able to pick up a v-power monoblock 700w amp pretty cheap...how would that push the 10's??

or would i be better off putting my amp or^that amp on a single 12? would the output be significantly better then my current setup?

thanks for the info so far guys!

700 still is not really enough for 2 r's. that 700 on 1 r ported would be okay. if you got a hifonics bx1206 off ebay, you'd be in business.

well the amp is the mrp-m350 its a 800max 350w rms....but i could prolly pick it up for around $50 from a kid in town....would that work well with an old style R that needs 300w rms?? or should i look at a nicer amp like the 600w v12? i can get the 600 v12 for around $200?

which box would be best for 1 type-r 12 also? most well rounded *loudest w/o sacrificing sq* (sq to spl/sql)

1.6cubes @32hz

1.75cubes@32hz

2cubes@34hz

and is 2 cubes too much? it says like 1.25-1.75 on alpines site

i say 2.5 cubes tuned to 34 is perfect for the type r (from personal experience). but with the amps your looking at getting you wouldnt really be upgrading bro. as said above, get the hifonics brutus 1200 watt amp on one type r in 2.5 cubes tuned to 34 and that will be a serious upgrade. forget the old r's- "you gotta pay to play"

but wouldnt 900rms be a little much for 1 R?

what about the 1 new 2ohm 12" R with a 2 cube box tuned @ 32hz b/c i dont think i could get a 2.5 in my car very easily

and what would be a good cheap 700w rms ish amp to run on it?
