Type R Comps vs PG RSD's Comps

Need some help here, I already had in mind to go with the type r comps, but as soon as i came here I hear all this hype of the PG RSD's and was wondering which would be the best comps overall? any help would be appreciated oh and by the way i was looking to maybe runnin them to a MTX TA 3404, would this be sufficient enough to power them it runs 50 X 4 at 4 ohms. THanks

ok first to answer your question - i'd go with the rsd's... i never heard em in person so i hate to recommend.. the rsd boner is so big lately its starting to poke my in the eye... but dont forget - i guess it is the rsd boner for a reason.. and not the type r boner... i have heard type r's.. granted its been awhile but i remember not being impressed at any speaker you'd find at like best buy (cept maybe type r subs and the pioneer premieres but didnt hear em)

and that amp will be enough for 50x4 but personally what i would suggest is

if you havent bought teh amp yet i'd try to find a better one cause i dont think only 50 watts is worth the upgrade

if you do have the amp however-put all the money towards the front speakers.. if you're we're planning on replaceing all 4 then just keep stock rear speakers and pwoer off the headunit or just forget about the rear speakers all together... and bridge the amp to 200 per side to the fronts and dial the gain back to around 150

my experience is the type r mids lacked midbass but tweets pretty crisp.....my girl had 2 sets of type r comps and sometimes a little too harsh....one set should be pretty good though.......if you are running subs id say go for it but if ur not running subs like i said midbass lacked quit a bit.

i have never heard the type r comps but i love my RSD's. they sound sooooo good. the highs are very clear, and crisp but present. the midrange is smooth, and the mid-bass at least in my install is outstanding.

I'm running 1 set of type r 6.5"s right now. They do get pretty bright in the tweets and lack midbass. It all depends on what you're using this for. I've heard the pg's too and I'd say pg's because of the price. Type r's get hella loud for what they are but again it kinda just boils down to price.

Ima say type r's if you have a substage or pg's for by themselves

i already have a type x sub thats goin to be powered by an mtx amp and i was lookin into getting the four channel mtx amp because i am going to have a friend do a custom install, i know where to get type r comps for a decent price but around here in houston, i have no clue where to purchase the rsd's so i will have to turn to ebay

I have the Type r's in my car and with the doors half-assed deadened, the midbass actually surprised me. But the tweeters are too harsh. I just bought some cdt drt-25 tweets to replace the type-r tweets.

I installed a set of the rsd's in my wife's car. At the moment, they are only getting 40 watts from an alpine amp and don't sound all that impressive. I need to bridge the 4-ch amp to give them more power, and then I can give a better review of them.

from what people are saying on here, get the type r's if you like harshness and weak/ok mid-bass, if you want a laid back tweeter and strong mid-bass then the rsd's are for you.
