Type R Amp Help

I just got 2 12" Type R Subs. Im going to stick with Alpine Amps which one/s should i use? The subs are 500 watt rms each. Does that mean I need an amp that has 1000 watt rms or no? And do I need a 2-channel or a mono? Thanks.

woops mis-read that, my bad, yea the one he said is ur best bet w/ alpine, but they are waaaaaaaayyyyy more expensive

If I dont go with Alpine what should i go with cause I didnt realize the amps from alpine were so expensive. The amp you mentioned before ill take into consideration but is there any other suggestions?
