Type R 15 VS L7 15

I'm going to upgrade my car audio subs. I'm mainly looking fo SPL but some SQ also. Help me pick a sub, with the right amp and box which should sound louder and better (1) Type R 15 or (1) Kicker L7 15?

L7 is obviously geared towards spl while the type r is sql. if you have the right amount of power, type Rs have huge potential especially if you get a tcab box as kotec123 mentioned.

spl = L7

sql= type R

thats what i thought, my friend has his just over half way up and its slamming the hell outa his 15L7 in 3cubes vented
