are thes good? i kno alpines pretty good i just bought 2 of them for 100 bucks there only bout 2 months old...but are they good?

well dude you are in the speaker section not the subwoofer section. I have a pair of type R 12's and I think they are pretty decent. 100 bucks is a good deal for 2.

Port them up, i've ran sealed and ported with 2 type r 12's and the ported was way better IMO.

you got yourself a good deal. but, i toasted a voice coil on one of mine. before i burnt the coil though they sounded pretty good. i suggest a small amp, and running them under rms power

I ran my type r's at 600 RMS a piece for 2-3 months. just sold them, but they took the power. keep in mind it was tuned up pretty well to ensure that they wouldn't melt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Depending on their condition, you did well. They are normally around $100 each from unauthorized dealers.

A well rounded driver not mentioned enough. Await the Type X.

They are a good sub. It will be a mistake to give them less then their RMS power. The subs need at leat 300WRMS to get the most out of them, and they'l handle up to 600WRMS all day long. I got 4 of them and they are a clean sounding sub, they pound and get loud.

my friends jbl600.1 blew an alpine type r 12 twice, and his gains were fine.
