Just go with the rec'd spec's, ya can go bigger is ya want, but all that is going to do is drop your bass extension alittle for a slightly smoother bass response.

Or, build the enclosure larger given how larger you want to go and you can always put blocking in the enclosure to bring the volume down, that way, you can fine tune the response to what your looking for.

im limited to the amount of space and im wantin to put 2 in my car. i have a chevy cobalt and there's not a whole lot of room to work with

No a single chamber enclosure for both is what you want.

well ya, thats what i meant. 2 separate ports, but one box for both.

oh i thought you meant two seperate boxes.

Just remember, where theres a will theres a way. I seen two 18's in the trunk of a ford taurus. tight fit.
