I have two alpine type e's in a sealed prefab box...I'm not really liking the box, so i decided to make a new one. It'll be going in the back of my '03 Ford Taurus. I was thinking sealed, seeing as the e's are more SQ driven subs. But i need help with the dimensions...and, how do you "tune" a box? can anyone help me out?

I'd honestly try a box about 2.4-3 cubes tuned to about 35-40hz. Ive made a few of these for type e's and they did extremely well.

Also, ive determined port to the driver side on a taurus does very well

If you want more SQ out of these drivers than stick to sealed. Larger sealed will be more efficient and should do better on low end notes.

P.s. you can't tuned sealed enclosures so i wouldn't worry about that unless you want to take another route.

Alright, so...sealed is i think what i'll be going for...And, this is just another idea ive been toying with, can I have two type e's in one box, and put another type in in a seperate box by itself? (this is assuming it will actually fit...), would the boxes not being connected create any problems?

I would just go with a ported box tuned from 32 hz. - 35 hz.
