two 12" Type-R in a vented box... help!!!

Changing to one 15" type r 05 model pushing about 1000watts. max dimensions of the box: 34"w x17"h x17"d and I will be using 3/4 mdf

I listen to mostly rap, but also other music and R&B... so here are the questions:

1) I want to tune to 33-34 hertz, good choice?

2) How many sq. inches of port will i want? is 46 enough?

3) width of port? Is 3" perfect? 3"wide x15.5" high would be 46.5 sq inch of port correct?

4) with above dimensions, does that give me about 3.9 cu ft (minus port area) so to tune this for 33 hertz, i would need about a 24" port length??????

3) it is fine, as long as you meet the requirements of port area

last ?..... it should work fine, just as long as the port area is correct.

go with at least 25 sq in. of port for each sub. in a common chamber enclosure, go for around 40 sq in. or more. you can do a 3" port 14.5 high with your dimensions

the 15" is a beast.... not comparble to the 12"...not really, but then again it all depends on what you feed it...
