Twisting Wires

To answer the original question at hand: YES you can twist wires together. In all actuality youre not twisting them at all, simply putting curves in the wire. The internals arent affected much if any. This ofcourse requires the use of common sense, like not overtwisting the wires, and not trying to twist 50 of them together. But think about it, when you take 4 wires, and wrap them around each other, youre not twisting any of the individual wires, just wrapping them which ends up looking like one big twist. But if it makes you feel better, get some twisted wire, and when you go to twist other wires with it do it counter clockwise that way itll untwist the original wires and make them last FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif:eek://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

He did not ask if it was safe, will break the wire, etc. Nobody seems to remember the actual question. He asked how many he could twist together, and if there is any trick.

How many depends on how large the wire is, where is going to be run, etc. Pretty much common sense to me.

The trick I guess is to wrap tape around the end until the ball is large enough for the chuck in your drill to be able to grasp it. Then lay out the wire on the floor, turn on the drill, and walk the braid to the end of the wire. You may need a friend to run the drill, or have one that will hold in the on position.

*shrug*?

Way to repeat what everyone else said.

Thanks for no help bud.

2 months ago I wasn't looking for an answer about twisted wires.
You dont appear to be now, either. You bumped this thread not to ask for clarification, but to add your opinion to the mix.
I really dnt care that you bumped a 2 month old thread anyway, I dont know why you chose to quote me as if I was bitching at you. I wasn't, eventhough I find the bump odd.
