This little guy is pretty much the only thing aside from the TB neo drivers that you should be using for budget small subwoofers. It really is IMO the best value sub on the market, and it's about 10 bucks off now which means it's a complete no brainer. Pick up a few to **** around with and you'll see what I mean. I used this thing years ago in a positive taper transmission line for efficiency. Only 25 watts was enough to rock the apartment. Indeed, a great subwoofer for the money. Very well built, though a cast frame would have been nice.

Yeah, but for 30 bucks there's not much to complain about. For under 20, it's a no brainer.

Fast1one, what kind of response did you get from putting one in a t-line? How far low did it extend with a usable range? Did it sound muddy at all or dry or anything outside optimal/normal?

I'm curious, this would make a great diy computer subwoofer.

I didn't have it playing to high, since the ripple in the midbass region was audible to me
I believe I had it crossed over at around 50hz...

I dont have the model anymore, but the ripple started around ~70hz I believe and the response was down -3db at around 26hz, better with room gain (it was in a corner).

It was mechanically limited to ~25 watts, so I had the parts express plate amp on it. It was pretty controlled with music/movies though. Lot of rumble. I have the dimensions, but be warned. Its basically a coffin since it has positive taper (think horn). Great for a small to medium size room:

As you can see, it was down firing coupled to ~1.5 inches off the floor. That was in my parent's house, which is pretty large. The living room is ~22 x 27 and is open to the kitchen, so ~22 x 39 I think. It had no problem filling the room at low to moderate listening levels. In my apartment, which was roughly 12 x 18, it had plenty of output.

what were the outer dimensions of it? i wonder how big of a box a 12 needs?
