So what's missing? You have 1 sub in your sig, then you said you're gonna run the DB drives, now you have the HDS. So which one are you hooking it up to? What are your box specs? For all of these?I have run this amp at 1ohm on a Soundqubed HDS315.
But maybe you guys are right. Maybe just hold on to it and wait till I get the new subs and enclosure and see how it sounds.

I think going from 37 to 34 is a noticeable difference. This also has nothing to do with the amp. I've heard a few HDS subs - a 310 and a 312, both sound pretty **** decent. Of course, neither of them live in a box tuned to 37. I like 32. Don't buy anything, just wait for your box and stick the sundown on those DB drives, I bet you'll be happy.Okay...
Started with this Sundown SAZ1500v3 running a Soundqubed HDS315 at one ohm. Could not stand it. Made noise and thats about it. Changed out the sub to this Exonic EXS10x in a Starr Mountain Sound enclosure at 2 ohm and loved it. So I sold the Soundqubed 15. Now wanna add a little more bass. Not alot but a little. So I bought two dbDrive WDX8's and have Brian building me another enclosure.
The HDS315 was in 4cu.ft tuned to 37hz as they recommend
The Exonic is in 1cu.ft tuned to 34hz
The dbDrives will be in 1.8cu.ft tuned to 32hz
I didn't realize there wasn't anything wrong with the sazI think going from 37 to 34 is a noticeable difference. This also has nothing to do with the amp. I know people have noticed differences between mids/highs amp right out of the box, but with sub amps it all boils down to power and damping to some extent. With sub amps, there's no sound stage, there's no imaging, so you just need an amp that will:
1. Provide ample power (preferably efficiently).
2. Control the speaker well (good damping).
3. Will be reliable (will last) and hopefully will be priced competitively.
Never touched either the twisted or the sundown, but they should put out roughly the same power?Well I said **** it and bought a Twisted Sounds TS1.8k. Mainly just to support a ND based company. I may be foolish for doing this. But I gain a 1 yr warranty and the dealer is only 105 miles from me.
Kind of made a decision alot of my peeps have been telling me for a while. And thats keep it local. Bought my subs from TrafikJamz out of Fargo, ND and now my amp from Woods Audio out of Bismarck, ND. When I get ready to upgrade the rest of my speakers I will hitup Chuck at TrafikJamz and buy another Twisted Sounds amp to push them.
Well after talking with the owner of Twisted Sounds sold me on the idea of switching over. Being locally owned and operated is a pretty good deal for me. If something goes wrong, getting it warrantied should not be a problemNever touched either the twisted or the sundown, but they should put out roughly the same power?
I'm pretty certain it's all psychological for you at this point. I doubt anything was going to happen to the Sundown, but sometimes you just need something else. Though, I hope that something else really gets you where you want to be.Well after talking with the owner of Twisted Sounds sold me on the idea of switching over. Its more of an addiction for me.I'm pretty certain it's all psychological for you at this point. I doubt anything was going to happen to the Sundown, but sometimes you just need something else. Though, I hope that something else really gets you where you want to be.
It's true. Now I'm interested in putting together home speakers. Hopefully this is cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifIt's an addiction for ALL of us, or you are fuqqin lying to yourself. Every time I turn it on, I am asking myself; What else 'needs' upgrading. Don't judge me, you know I'm right, lmfao....but seriously, right?
The Synergy did almost 2.3k at 1 ohm, 13.8vIn all honesty the twisted ts1.3k is comparable to that synergy cause it does 1500 certified... That 1.8 will be putting you well into the 2ks that's why I'm gonna get one to replace the 2200.1d Orion amp cause it's of equal output and probably built of better components
