Tweeter shopping...

I'm looking for a tweeter to go into a MTM set-up with a pair or Dayton Aluminum cone woofers.

The only tweeter I have experience with is the Dayton Refrence Series tweeter, but I'd like to go with some different. Well, cheaper really.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a $20-30 tweeter? I'd like it to be rated ~100 watts.

I've heard they're good, but they won't handle the power I'll be throwing at them. For cosmetic reasons, I like to do just a single tweeter in each cabinet.

You'll never put 100 watts of power through any tweeter in a MTM arrangement... Unless you've found some mids that will take 1kW suddenly. They'd tear your ears apart.

So, do think I'd be fine using the 1-1/8" Dayton Silk Dome tweeter?

I'm just starting to make the transition into home audio, so I'm open to any suggestions.

Build the effecentcy change between the tweets and the mids in the crossover.

Vifa, Peerless, Morel, and a few others are usually pretty good. Don't go too cheap with the tweets because honestly they make or break the speaker, and some cheap ones sound awesome but others **** ***....

I'm just using that Dayton silk dome dome kind of as a baseline, because I've heard good things about it, and it's affordable.

Actually Parts Express sells a kit with the using the 7" Dayton woofers I plan on using and the Vifa D25AG35-06 tweeter.

Maybe that Vifa is the way to go?

Vifa usually builds a solid product. I am a big fan of the XT-25's.
