The dealer should be at the very least assisting you. The dealer should have actually been the one to deal with the warranty return/exchange.

I'd start kicking the dealer in the butt and get them doing something on your behalf.

A dealer usually replaces your item right there on the spot (for the customer) and sends the defective product back to the manufacture

Unless that is the company's policy, it usually doesn't work that way at all.
