endthread.
i bought...

mediumsized kittyhair can

mediumsized lightweight body filler can

a "metallic textured" can of spraypaint

a sanding block

60 grit sandpaper

400 grit sandpaper

respirator

spray adhesive

...close to $60 for everything

did i do good?
$60 for all of that. Pretty good if you ask me. How much did the resperator coast you, I was going to buy one yesterday but it was 30 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The kitty hair method might be a little easier than the fiberglass method, but not that much. It will take more than one layer of kitty hair, like 3 or 4. Kitty hair doesn't like to be formed, it's tricky to get it to go (and stay) were you want it.

But maye it'll come out nice for you. Good luck!

Maybe (i'm hoping) the hardener will make the kitty hair stay where I want it. And the sail will be removed so it won't be fighting gravity. Even if it moves out of place I can always sand some off :)

And it wasn't really a respirator, it was those face mask things that help your mouff from not getting sh*t in it. $6 for a pair.

Thank you. I forgot about primer, and forgot to buy some.
I have another question, though... How should I apply so that it fits perfectly with the A-pillar? Put some tape over the A-pillar, then put the kitty hair on, then close the door?

while u are there getting primer, get some 220 paper. its hard going from 80-400 and get a smooth paint job. for ATLEAST 80-220-400, and i would wet sand the latter two. by wetsanding the excess water flushes the dirt, grit, and grim so u dont dig it down in your primer, causing u to reprime.

arent you the guy that broke his tweeter grill by having *** with your girfriend in that church parking lot? LOL, I would stretch some material over it, body fill it smooth it out really nice and texture it with rocker pannel spray to match the dash and original door. then spray die it the same color. It should give a nice custom / stock look.
