Tuning The Amps

you probably havent needed to upgrade because your running at a high impedance load. That amp puts out 2500rms bridged but for your application. since you have those 2 subs you have 2 options for wiring here. like this and run 1250rms divided by 2 off of one channel only

or run them like this each sub to its own channel and give each sub 950rms each. but like this chances are you'll have low voltage which is bad for the amp and your vehicle

regardless 4 gauge is NOT enough for that amp it uses TWO runs of 1/0 do you even have 2 runs of 4 gauge going to it?
Sorry for the long wait for post, was tied up in matters not of my car. I am running 1 4 gauge to the 5k and another 4 gauge to a 600 watt amp.

I'm dealing with sub clipping ATM. I believe it is problems with the alt or something.

Alright dude. So most stock alternators are 60-130ish amps. mostly in the middle of that. If you try to pull more than that off it. you considerably shorten its lifespan. if you try to pull MASSIVELY more than what its rated for. You can do all kinds of ****, like catching your power wires on fire.

There is an arguement about it but you can usually pull between 1500-2000 watts off your stock alt before you need to start upgrading your electrical. As in, aftermarket high output alternator. big 3, which is 1/0 awg or bigger power wire between your alternator to your battery and some other wires. 1 or 2 or 4 batteries in the back. plus a fuckton of other stuff.

try pulling 5k through your stock wiring and youll melt the plastic off it and straight up light your car on fire. Go down to the local shop. tell them what you have and tell them you have stock electrical. They will tell you in much more detailed what wrong with your idea than what these people seem to be willing to explain.

Disconnect everything your trying to do and go to the shop first. If you like your car that is.

Please elaborate
You are running to small of power/ground wire for the wattage your wanting 1st off, 2nd you need a pretty darn good electrical system to supply the power your wanting to use.

If you don't properly use the correct size of wire an electrical system your wire ois going to melt or catch in fire your talking an wanting more advanced setup then I believe your skill lvl points out an advise you to get someone local to set you up properly before you or your equipment or your car gets hurt.

Thank you! I'll go any try it out maybe this weekend or something. I hope this system doesn't break my wallet anymore than it has to. i did wire and setup everything myself, with the help of these forums of course.
