Tuning for Rap

I listen to mainly rap,

My L7 ported is tuned to 32hz and my Diamond Audio M6s are tuned to 29hz.

I was leaning towards 32 hz after the first few posts, but now I don't know

I dunno man, but nothing pisses me off more when the midbass part of a rap beat gets lost. Accuracy, broad range of reproduction ability>SPL here.

OT but fairly relevant... 35 sound good to me.

I like 30Hz, midbass should be played by your midbass speakers anyway. Subwoofers play sub-bass

Agreed. Tune closer to 30 hz, don't worry about your mid bass. Get some nice comps for that.

I had it at 40 for a while, and then went to 35 and it was awful at 35 imo.

I listen to mostly rap and heavy bass songs. I tuned my box to 32 hz. This will retain some sq but still get loud. It will also still sound ok with other styles of music. I am pleased with my install.

I listen to rap as well, does it matter on your system also? the guy that built my box sounds like shit, i dont know what its tuned at tho but it sucks ***? and right now im in the process of getting a new box.

if it matters on the system you have and music you like (rap) what do you think would be the perfect tune?

also what should i tell the the box builder to get the perfect box i want?

Jmac did some testing on popular rap songs, and found that few songs get into the lower 30s, much less the 20s. Play the song on your computer and watch what notes it hits.

I think the lowest in Late Nite Tip was like 33

I am thinking about tuning to 32 Hz but now I am worried...
