Hey guys! What's going on?

I listen to almost exclusively rap, especially bass heavy stuff like Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat, Pastor Troy, etc...

What type of tuning do you guys recommend for my new ported box?

It is a daily driver, not competition or anything...

If it matters, it is for a 2005 12" Kicker CompVR

i listen to the same, I usually go at around 30hz to 35hz. You can be retardedly loud with " Get that money right pt II ". But i would go 30 to 35 hz.
30-35... anything within there yout hink would be best?

I saw do not go that low.40 hz or 38hz is awesome for rap. I switched from a 40 to a 35hz box and it was soo bad. Most rap songs dont go below like 35 anyway.
So on my new box, should I port to 35 just to be safe. I listen to rap only also...

Anyone else agree?

Or does the majority still think 30-35hz is best?

I was in the process of tuning my box to 30 hertz but now that I read the stuff in this thread I'm probably going to change to high 30's or probably just wait for more responses

SQ is subjective. If you're looking for the flattest possible response curve, usually sealed will give you that in a car. Porting is more...
