Tuning a crossfire vr4000d

Just wanted to make sure everything is right. I'm running 2 15" hdc3. 2000 watts a piece. I checked the gain with my dmm.

my settings go like:

lpf in on

crossover frequency is about 135 hz

subsonic is on

subsonic is set to about 35 hz

and my lpf is set at about 100hz

does this look right. I think my lpf should be lower. I have a constant 13-14.4 volts and its still good at full tilt. Subs sound alittle peaky and at volume around 35-40 I am still smelling the glue on the subs.

try 80 for the LPF, and your subsonic seems pretty high also

check his sig, it's 37.77hz tuning. Besides, the HDC are known to play well below tuning without bottoming out

yeah I will lower my llpf to 80.

the box is tuned to 37.77 hz, so should I still lower the crossover frequency?

Why would the subs still be smelling to at higher volume?

and thats at 12 volts....if you want to run at 14 volts, add 20% to the bill

the sub smells? Could be excess glue burning off. Lower your SSF to around 25 or so, that would probably work.

37.77x0.75=28.375

I gotcha....is thats the formula to set the ssf? Subs were just reconed so it is possible...no scratching

is there anywhere good to look for tuning amps? tutorial?
